6/5/15: Puno

I got up early to take the bus to Puno today, and for some reason I was unsure of what I was doing the whole time on the bus. I wasn't sure if I was even on the right bus (thankfully I was) or why we were making seemingly random stops along the way. There was a lot of desert outside my window either way.

I ended up getting to Puno later than I thought I would. The bus was scheduled to leave at 8 am, and the ride was supposed to be about 5 hours, according to Rome2Rio.com. However, I didn't get into Puno until about 3 pm, which was about 2 hours later than expected. I didn't know why, and it didn't seem like we had run into too many obstacles, but who knows. Maybe we did when I was asleep.

Puno itself is very small. Just walking around, it's populated mainly with locals even in the Plaza de Armas area, which is always very heavily touristy. I walked around a little just to explore, and Puno seems like a small town whose only attraction is Lake Titicaca. On the bright side, they have signs everywhere telling people where the points worth seeing/statues/churches are, which is nice!

I basically walked around and did some food shopping, booked a tour of the islands for tomorrow, and ate dinner before it got dark. I then headed back to my hostel for the night! Pretty chill, which was good because my legs are still ridiculously sore from my trek yesterday and the day before.
